世界史討論會社群的各位師長，大家好！ 2015年度第一次的世界史討論會第30回， 在輔仁大學歷史系舉辦，於2015年10月7日下午1:40- 4:30PM順利完成。這次邀請輔大歷史系主任林桶法掲開會議， 年輕學者陳复嘉老師主講，講題是「 維多利亞時代倫敦出租馬車的使用手冊」。主持人周雪舫教授， 與談人汪采燁助理教授。  陳复嘉老師在此次演講中，從英國約克鐵路博物館開始介紹， 繼而談到倫敦出租馬車在大都會的使用情況， 說明工業革命後交通方式的改變，以及社會文化的變化。 從許多不同原始史料，如檔案、圖像等資料的爬梳過程， 歸納出倫敦出租馬車的使用功能， 涵蓋了都市化生活中的多種不同現象。 汪采燁助理教授針對本篇文章， 提出了對本文題目的建議與對此議題的興趣。 演講後，不少同學及老師發問，討論過程相當熱烈， 對於19世紀倫敦出租馬車和倫敦計程車的轉變關係， 以及出租馬車的司機和如何考試及格取得證照等問題， 都討論相當熱烈。此外，輔仁大學歷史系主任林桶法、 輔仁大學楊小華助理教授、陳立樵助理教授、楊惟安助理教授、 成功大學楊尹瑄助理教授、暨南大學李今芸副教授、 台大歷史系主任楊肅獻教授伉儷亦出席本討論會， 並與主持人周雪舫教授， 一起鼓勵在座的年輕學生投入學習西洋史的陣容。 會議於下午5點準時結束，同學們還是依依不捨， 繼續向演講人陳復嘉老師提問討論，同學們收獲豐富。會後， 師長們於輔仁大學旁的楓橋咖啡餐敘，愉快的交流經驗。 世界史討論會非常感謝輔仁大學諸位師生及各校老師的踴躍參與， 使第30回的演講活動圓滿落幕， 並且我們也將此次演講資料上傳至世界史討論會網頁上（請參： ht tp://clio-taiwan.blogspot.tw/ 2015/09/3020151007.html ）， 讓未能參與與會的成員參考閱讀，彌補遺憾。下一回（第31回） 的世界史討論會，將在今年12月25日於國立師範大學舉行， 期待下次與諸位師長、同學們再次相聚！ 敬祝　平安  如意! 王文霞   敬上

Roland worked as a teacher before being enlisted as a sailor in the Navy; Hilde worked as a laborer in a factory until shortly before their marriage and stayed at home during the war. Latecomers on the stage of global trade, the English show a strong desire to enter direct trade with China and Japan from the Elizabethan age onwards, yet are time and again frustrated in their expectations. Various expeditions tragically fail to locate the North-West passage, a letter from Queen Elizabeth to the Emperor of China apparently never reaches its addressee, an attempt to sail up the Pearl River turns into disaster, and English factories in Japan and Taiwan are short-lived and spectacularly unsuccessful. Dickinson University of Edinburgh Abstract The 800th anniversary of Magna Carta is being celebrated with exhibitions, conferences, workshops and a host of scholarly and popular publications produced across the world. Few people realize that what is being celebrated is not the charter of liberties agreed at Runnymede in 1215. This agreement was in fact revoked by King John and annulled by the Pope.  Instead, what is being celebrated, particularly in Britain and North America is a document that has been repeatedly reinterpreted and even misinterpreted over the centuries.
